Kitty in the Window

with No Comments

I got the inspiration to create this card from the Sketch Challenge at My Favorite Things. Using the window die frame I created a cute and simple scene. My favourite part about this card is the window curtains which I made from a doily and coloured with distress ink to match the card.

The background inside the window was coloured with distress inks and blended together. The blending came out a little darker than I had intended, it looks a little bit stormy outside. The cat is from the My Favorite Things stamp set called ‘I knead you’, and was coloured with copic markers.

Bringing the Joy

with 2 Comments

I have created another cute card for the holiday season! This card is a holiday card with a snowy winter forest scene. The stamp set is from Lawn Fawn called ‘Joy to the Woods’. I created this card for the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge to use our oldest Lawn Fawn stamp set. This was one of the first stamps I bought when I started crafting in the Fall/Winter of 2015. I love the cute scene that Is easy to create, and pretty fool-proof. I really have to get out of my comfort zone though and try to create this card in different ways. I always seem to create the same card with this set every time I set out to use it. So I need to work on that.

It is holiday crafting time now! I am loving these kitties from My Favorite Things with the added Santa hats! So glad I have a santa hat stamp and die (from Lawn Fawn ‘Baah Humbug’ set) that I can easily mix and match with any stamp set.The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn ‘Joy to the Woods’. An instant holiday card.

Simple Sweet Caring Card

with 3 Comments

My style can sometimes be very plain and simple with a lot of white space on a card. This sweet kitty card is all you need to let someone know you are thinking about them.

The adorable kitty is from the Mama Elephant ‘Cat Agenda’ stamp set. It was coloured in with a few copic markers. The sentiment is from The Ton ‘Hey Foxy’ stamp set.

I created this adorable and very girly card for the MFT Sketch Challenge. The kitty and the sentiment is from the My Favorite Things I Knead you Stamp set. The loose flowers are from a seperate Wplus 9 stamp set called Unforgettable. The paper is from My Favorite Things as well and is called Pink Lemonade.

As some of you may know I actually already celebrated Thanksgiving… since I am Canadian and we celebrate in October. Just to show how festive I am, I made another Thanksgiving card for all those Americans out there!

The stamp is from Simon Says Stamp, and I received all of the paper in the card kit last year! I just don’t often make Thanksgiving cards so this kit will last me a long time.

DinoMite!

This new to me Neat and Tangled stamp set is adorable and prehistoric, and I just love playing with the little stamps! For this card I coloured my background with Distress Inks in Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Festive Berries and Chipped Sapphire. I used my Spectrum Noir markers to colour in my Dinosaurs.

I love that this card is ‘different’ and not the typical Congratulations Baby card.

Two Colour Birthday

with 1 Comment

This is an easy two-tone birthday card using paint store swatches!

The background was stenciled with paw prints from My Favorite Things ‘staggered paws’ stencil, and three different shades of light grey to black were used to try to create an ombré effect.

The balloon die cuts are Mama Elephant and came in a set with a few scalloped circles (sorry I can’t remember the name of the set of dies!).

I used regular black string to attach to the back of the balloons, and made the gift (which is from Avery Elle’s Bah humbug set) appear like it was being floated away with balloons!

The sentiment is from Your Next Stamp, and the dog is from My Favorite Things.

Thank you for stopping by to say hi!!

My Favorite Things are Dogs

with 1 Comment

I lied.. My favorite things are probably cats, and then dogs. But I do love the stamp set from My Favorite Things called ‘you make my tail wag’. It has the best sentiments, and the cutest little images. I have a card to share with you today, created using My Favorite things products.

The card background here was created by using a cloud die, onto a 4.25 x 5.5 inch cardstock multiple times to create my own stencil. I then used some Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass on my stencil and created that cloud background. The grass was stenciled on as well using a die cut piece of cardstock. The ink used was Distress Ink’s Mowed Lawn. Perfect.

The card was quite easy to put together, once I had my dog coloured and my hydrant. The sentiment was stamped over top of the clouds and Voila! Pretty simple to make.

If you live in my area of the world, be sure to check out Pet Valu Virgil for these cute cards for sale!  Quantity in store does vary, so please message me if you are interested in this card.

Happy World Cardmaking Day

with No Comments

This post is slightly belated, but the card I made was for world cardmaking day!

I used The Ton’s floral world, and heat embossed clear embossing powder over pink color theory ink. The heat embossed powder prevented the ink from running once I watercolored overtop of the image. I took out my Gansai Tambi watercolours for this card, and it was super simple. A little sequin embellishment and I’m done!
