Hello again! This has been a super busy week for me! I have been participating in the My Favorite Things – Camp Create, where each day this week, they have given a challenge. Today’s challenge was to make a card with a die cutting technique. I decided to make this a super colourful thank you card.
Firstly I started with a card 11″ x 8.5″ and folded it in half. The panel that would be the front of my card I die cut with my stitched heart from Avery Elle. I cut a piece of clear acetate x2 to hold my sequins behind the heart. I wanted to be able to see through the card, but have a few sequins in the front panel. I had realized once I had glued the two pieces of acetate to the card, with the sequins already placed inside, that it didn’t look so nice when you opened up the card (from the inside), so I die cut the same stitched heart onto another piece of white cardstock measuring 4.25″x 5.5″ so that the hearts lined up perfectly. This looked much better from the inside when you opened it up.
I used distress inks and a foam blending tool to create the coloured background on the front of the card. I added a spritz of water and voila!
I die cut the Hero Arts “Thank you” die 3 times, once in black cardstock, and twice in that lavender colour. I then glued all three “thank you’s” together to add a bit more dimension. My sentiment on the inside is from the “Cool Cats” My favorite things stamp set which says “I hope you are in every one of my nine lives”. How cute is that! Sorry I didn’t get a picture of the inside, I had to give the thank you card away right away! I hope the recipient enjoys it just as much as I did creating this card.
Thank you for visiting my blog today, and I hope you got some inspiration! With this challenge I earned my fourth badge, only one more to go!!
