MFT Spectacular Shaker Card

with No Comments

This is the final My Favorite Things challenge for the week! Woohoo I made it! It has been a busy week of crafting but I love everything I created! Now I only have one day to make fathers day cards!

To make this card I used a large scalloped border from Avery Elle Sweet Scallops Die set, and also cut the center oval scallop out at the same time. (This is also from the same Avery Elle set).

I stamped some small shapes from the My Favorite Things cool cats set, and the I knead you set. I used Color Theory Inks to stamp Buttercup near the top of the card, and I used Buttercup and Pink Lemonade near the middle, and only pink lemonade near the bottom to try to create an ombre look.

I cut a piece of acetate down to fit behind the scalloped oval, and added foam tape on top of the acetate. I made sure the foam tape was overlapping to prevent any sequins from falling out.

Next I used my Distress inks Mustard Seed and Picked Raspberry to blend a colourful background on my card base which was 11″x 4.25″ and scored at 5.5″.

I glued my card base onto my foam tape being sure no sequins could escape. I then stamped a sentiment onto a banner from Mama Elephant Basic set, and also used my distress inks to blend some colours onto the banner. The cat is from the My Favorite Things Cool Cats set, which was coloured in with just a grey marker, and pink for the pearls.

Here is how my card turned out! I think its so fresh and fun! Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you were inspired! 🙂
