This card was created for the Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog. Be sure to visit the blog to check out all of the other great works the design team members created!

Happy Halloween!

with No Comments

Hey everyone! I am wishing you all a happy Halloween filled with lots of chocolate and candy! For this week’s challenge at Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog, we made a ‘Cute’ card using images from our sponsor at Bugaboo Stamps.

I used the ‘Sillouette – happy halloween cat’ stamp and you can find it here.

To create this card, I cut out a stitched circle as near to the inside border of the stamp as I could. I used the Simon Says Stamp stitched border circle dies. I then did some Distress Ink Blending using orange and black on the outside top layer, and some blue and black on that inside circle. The fence was cut from black card stock using a Pretty Pink and Posh fence die cut. The two little bats and the BOO! are confetti that I had bought from Michaels last Halloween! They come in handy and allowed the card to look a little bit more fun!

This was a quick and easy card, which is super reproducible. These digital stamps from Bugaboo stamps are so versatile and easy to use. I highly recommend them! Thanks for visiting, and be sure to check out the challenge blog for all of the inspiration!

Halloween is near!!

Hello all! I have created a card for the Lawnscaping Challenge! The ‘happy halloween’ stamp is a Digital Stamp from Bugaboo Stamps. I have created a shaker card and filled it with black and purple bats! I used black, and purple distress inks and blended them together. Sooo creepy! But to top it off, I used a kitty from MY Favorite Things. The mask I found on the internet and shrunk it to fit my cats face, and added some googly eyes over top to really make those eyes POP! The pumpkins were some clip art from the internet. Who knew all the cool images you could use from the internet!

Isn’t it boo-ti-ful!

Here is a closer look!

New Challenge #166 ‘Vintage’ plus a Sentiment

with No Comments

Hello everyone, this is a post for the new challenge at Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog. The theme this week is to create a ‘Vintage card plus a sentiment’. I hope you join in on the fun!

The sponsor for this weeks’ challenge is My Artistic Adventure. The image that I used is called Beautiful Vintage Framed Woman and you can get it here.

I made a few different designs this week, and I wasn’t sure which one I loved more, so I decided to share them all!

The digital paper comes with four different framed women. To make this card I enlarged the size of the frames, and printed it onto some heavy weight cardstock. I fussy cut around the edges and then used some distress inks to try to remove any white showing on the edge of the frame. The distressed vintage paper background was created with Distress inks in walnut stain, antique linen and vintage photo. The roses are from Altenew called ‘Vintage Roses’ and they were stamped with three color theory inks called Poppy, Well Red, and Brick House. The thank you sentiment is from the digital paper pack, from My Artistic Adventure.

This image shows exactly how the four framed women come on the paper without any manipulation. This was easy to print off, and die cut with a stitched border and apply distress inks. The sentiment paper this time I also blended the inks on to make sure all of the papers matched.

For my last vintage card I went in search of a doily to really add some texture. All I had on hand were heart shaped doilies, so I had to cut it and attach it together, which I am hoping you cannot tell on the card! This card might be my favourite because of how feminine it looks. I used the same vintage rose stamp from Altenew, and the same three Distress Inks.

I hope you enjoyed my cards for the challenge today, and be sure to check out the challenge blog here, and My Artistic Adventures here.

See you in a few weeks for another challenge!

Mondo Magnolia!

A quick card to share with you today! Made for the Pin-Sights challenge.

I did some watercolouring with my Gansai Tambi watercolours overtop of my gold embossed stamps! The stamp used is called Mondo Magnolia.

Stay tuned for tomorrow, when I share my inspiration for the next challenge at Aud Sentiments!

My second creation for the MFT Cardmaking superstar!

with No Comments

This card is a creation made for the My Favorite Things Cardmaking superstar contest! The TOP TEN win a $250 gift card to MFT Stamps!! This is huge!!! I would love to win this soooo much, especially because I am getting tired of these cats and magical unicorn cards!

Both my kitty and my mouse slide along as the cat is chasing the ball of yarn which is hanging from the mouses’ tail. (You can’t see the string very well). The mouse slider was easily hidden behind the wall shelf, but the cat slider I had a hard time hiding. I don’t own the MFT Slider die cuts (which would be something I would purchase if I won top 10)! so I had to use a craft knife, and the cut doesn’t really look all that good (I wish I could have hidden it).

So to start off here, I cut out all my shapes I thought I was going to use. I obviously cut out a lot more than I had used on the final card. You never know where your creativity will take you. The black spaces are where I line up my stamps.

MISTI cheat 1

I slide each stamp around until I know where the edge is, and find the center.

MISTI stamp cheat 2

Once my stamps are lined up, I close the MISTI down, and pick up the stamps! I also place my die cut pieces back into the spaces on my page.

MISTI cheat 3

I used Memento Black ink to stamp my cats. Using this technique with the MISTI I find much easier, since lining it up on the already die cut image I always end up off too much to one side!

MISTI cheat 4

To make my first slider piece, I am using a hole punch since I do not have a die cut to easily create one (that is on the shopping list if I win)!

I am cutting two holes parallel to each other, and centered near the top. This is where I will have my shelf covering up this slider slot.

This is how that looks finished.

Using my craft knife, I am going to be connecting these two holes.

Once my slider hole was created, I needed to make my mouse a little bit higher than the shelf, which would be used to cover up the slider slot. I glued the mouse onto another piece of cardstock.

Here is the mouse and shelf all coloured and placed where I would like them. In order to make the mouse move back and forth, there were two foam squares sandwiched between the mouse and a dime.

Here is the back, where you see the dime. This makes the mouse slide easily.

The ball of yarn, I felt needed a bit more to make it actually look like yarn, so I strung some thread around it, and thought how cute it would be to have the mouse dragging the yarn around for the cat to chase!

This is that top portion all finished!

I had to also create a slider slot in the bottom of my card, for the cat to be able to move back and forth. I used the same technique with the hole punch.

I sandwiched some foam squares behind the cat, and in front of the dime, and then mounted the bottom panel with some adhesive foam. The foam keeps it off the card base, and allows it to slide around.

This is what the card looked like before the stamping of the sentiments!

And again here is my finished card!

Thanks for coming to see my fun card! Wish me luck!
