Shadow Stamping

Thanks for visiting my page again to check out my next creation for the Camp Create challenge over at the My Favorite Things blog. Today I am creating a shadow behind my stamped image by using a lighter colour ink.

To cut my white piece, I used the Mama Elephant basic set stitched edge die cut, and the black cardstock was cut with the scalloped border die cut.

I decided to use Mama Elephant Super Duo stamp set, and put the city skyline along the bottom of my card and the big comic book explosion stamp as my main focus. The colours I used are from Studio Calico, called the colour theory dye inks. With these Inks I find I need to stamp them more than once to get a good image, so I used my MISTI to stamp perfectly every time.

The explosion stamp colours are Pink Lemonade which was stamped first, and then I moved the stamp slightly to create a little shadow behind. The second colour is Flamingo. I decided that the shadow should really be all the way around, so i moved the stamp again and stamped pink lemonade underneath.

For the city skyline I stamped in Clean Slate first, and moved slightly and then stamped over top with inky black. I moved the stamp to repeat the process for the other side of the card.

My sentiment is also from the same stamp set and I stamped this in Clean slate as well.

The white card front was then glued down onto the black scalloped edge piece, and then they were both glued onto the card base.

I thought the card needed a little bit of sparkle to it, so I stamped a few stars with some embossing ink, and heat embossed Wow Platinum silver embossing powder.

Lastly I added some sequins to finish off the card.
